About the role
The Machine Operators (or bulk technician) works on the production floor, setting up, operating and adjusting a variety of machines. Your spooling wiring or sleeving it with a protective jacket.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Set-up, operate, and adjust machines as required to complete duties listed below
- Bulk Re-Spool – Spool product/wire to specified spools and clean shielded/jacketed material in preparation for next operation; prepare bulk product for inventory or final inspection
- Sleeving – Pull bulk material through sleeving or protective jacketing by using air nozzles and bullets to expand sleeving for application
- Tape – Install miscellaneous types/widths of tape by machine or by hand to meet specified requirements
- Learn the requirements to operate one (1) to three (3) machines (Wardwell braider, Butt braider, cabler, extruder, etc)
- Perform all duties in accordance with Vermillion Quality Management System and Safety standards, using situation-appropriate tools and protective equipment
- Develop an understanding of the principles of continuity and operation of test equipment
- Maintain a pristine and organized workbench
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to read and understand drawings and work orders
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to plan and manage multiple tasks
- Ability to list 30 pounds
- General knowledge of machine operation
- Ability to assemble products according to verbal or written instructions, or by following drawings/diagrams
- This position requires the employee to have clear vision at 20 inches or less and clear vision at 20 feet or less (with or without the use of personal corrective eyewear) in addition to color vision in order to identify and distinguish colors.
