About the role

The Wire Harness Assembly Technician (or termination technician) works on the production floor, putting together a crucial and detailed part of our product: the termination point, or where a cable ends. You’re turning a bundle of wires and electrical pieces into a finely tuned, precisely made cable (or set of cables) that’s ready to use. 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Full-cycle assembly of cables, including layout, soldering, striping/crimping jacketed wire, insertion of wire into contacts, tightening connector assemblies, torquing, taping, banding, and using adhesive to prepare the cable for sealing.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with Vermillion Quality Management System and Safety standards, using situation-appropriate tools and protective equipment
  • Develop an understanding of the principles of continuity and operation of test equipment
  • Maintain a pristine and organized workbench
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of basic hand tools
  • Ability to use measuring tools to measure lengths accurately and precisely is required; certain responsibilities may require precision to within 1/32 inch
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Hand dexterity
  • Ability to assemble products according to verbal or written instructions, or by following drawings/diagrams
  • This position requires the employee to have clear vision at 20 inches or less (with or without the use of personal corrective eye wear or a company-provided magnifying glass) in addition to color vision in order to identify and distinguish colors.
