About the role

The Buyer focuses on providing comprehensive support to internal customers and the Purchasing Department. The role demands excellent organization, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.

About You

You are an organized, detail-oriented professional with at least two years of experience in purchasing or estimating, ideally within a manufacturing or technical industry. Your strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, and your familiarity with MRP/ERP systems allow you to navigate complex data and systems seamlessly. You thrive in collaborative environments, leveraging excellent interpersonal communication skills to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal teams. With a knack for managing multiple priorities within deadlines, you bring both structure and efficiency to all aspects of the role.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Initiate purchase orders for supplies, parts, services, and/or equipment
  • Performs a variety of duties to ensure that merchandise, supplies, and equipment are shipped on schedule by vendors
  • Maintains purchasing and estimating records, purchase and estimating requests, and vendor logs
  • Maintains a library of purchasing/estimating material and sources of supply
  • Assist with supplier management, to include supplier appraisal and negotiation
  • Provide material estimates for the planning department; maintain accurate records of estimates
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Associate’s Degree (at minimum) plus at least two years of purchasing/estimating experience required; or equivalent work experience
  • Manufacturing and/or aircraft (or similar technical) industry experience strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office applications, including strong knowledge of Excel
  • Working knowledge of MRP or ERP systems
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to organize, manage, and complete multiple tasks within deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
